As your Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, my dedicated staff and I perform more than 1,000 constitutional duties and statutory roles in service of the people of Collier County. One of these roles is to act as an Agent for the State of Florida to issue Marriage Licenses within Collier County. Hosting this ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the most romantic day of the year with our constituents, who are embarking on a new life together or renewing those prior commitments. It is an honor to officiate a ceremony that brings so much love and joy to our community.
The 2023 ceremony will be held at the 21 Spices Restaurant (4270 Tamiami Trail E #21, Naples, FL) with light hors d’oeuvres provided by Chef Asif Syed, and cake courtesy of local sponsors. The wedding ceremony will start at 10:00 am and guests are expected to arrive by 9:30 am. To commemorate this special day, couples will receive a certificate from our office and photographers will be taking photos of the happy couples as a remembrance of the day.
Limited space is available, so couples are encouraged to register early for the 2023 Wedding and Vow Renewal Ceremony. Originally launched in 2020, the event was canceled in 2021 due to the pandemic but came back stronger and sweeter in 2022 with six engaged couples tying the knot and twelve couples who renewed their wedding vows on the most romantic day of the year.
Marriage vow renewals are free but engaged couples must pay a $30 wedding ceremony fee and secure a valid marriage license. To apply for a marriage license, visit the Recording Department on the 2nd Floor of the Collier County Courthouse or one of the Satellite Office Locations and present the following requirements: valid ID (Driver’s License, State ID, Military ID, or Passport) and Social Security Number. Both parties must be present and should be at least 18 years old upon the application.
Couples should take note that marriage licenses are only valid for a 60-day period. Therefore, they must ensure that their marriage licenses are still effective on the day of the ceremony for their marriage to be valid. In applying for marriage licenses, standard rates will apply and if the couple has completed a premarital preparation course, they must present this to us during application.
The marriage license is effective immediately upon application for Florida residents who present a premarital preparation course certificate of completion. Applicants who do not have the premarital course certificate must wait for three days before their licenses are valid. This waiting period does not apply when both parties are non-Florida residents.
Engaged couples who wish to participate in the group wedding ceremony must obtain the wedding license before February 10, 2023, at our office at 3315 Tamiami Trail East or at any of our satellite locations.
