Collier County Clerk’s Office Recognized in the 2022-2023 FCCC Best Practices Excellence Program

Collier County Clerk of Court and Comptroller Crystal K. Kinzel is pleased to share that the office has been recognized by the Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers (FCCC) for receiving a Recognition of Excellence certificate in all the 10 Best Practices categories at the 3rd Annual Best Practices Excellence Program.

“Our team is constantly looking for ways to improve our systems and processes. Benchmarking with our peers around the state helps ensure we are providing the most efficient and effective services for local taxpayers. We are honored to be recognized for implementing the best practices,” said Collier County Clerk Crystal K. Kinzel.

The FCCC established the Best Practices Excellence Program in June 2020 as an opportunity for Clerks to receive Recognition of Excellence certificates for choosing to complete assessments that evaluate acceptance in 10 areas for best practices. Each year, the FCCC Best Practices Committee establishes standard guidelines for the program and selects ten best practices for recognition. In the 2022-2023 Best Practices Excellence Program, the ten areas for best practices include:

  • Appeals
  • Court Record Retention and Destruction
  • Determination of Indigency
  • Evidence Storage and Destruction
  • Exploitation of Vulnerable Adult Injunction
  • Guardianship Audits
  • Reporting Mental Health Cases to State Agencies
  • Requests to Redact Exempt Personal Information
  • Risk Protection Orders
  • Unclaimed Funds

Of the 57 Clerks’ offices participating in this year’s program, only 30 Clerks and Comptrollers received Recognition of Excellence certificates in every category, including Clerk Kinzel. To achieve these certificates, the Clerks had to accomplish 512 assessments.
