It’s never too early to plan your next out-of-town trip! Planning ahead allows you more time to prepare, make the necessary reservations, buy all your necessities, and reduce the overall stress of organizing an outing. If you and your family are thinking of spending the holidays somewhere far away, make sure to apply for your first-time passports or submit your application for passport renewal now.
Passport application processing times are 10 to 13 weeks for routine service and 7 to 9 weeks for expedited service. Mailing times are not included in processing times. As the postal service can be hectic at the end of the year, we encourage travelers to check the expiration dates on their existing passports and leave time for renewals. Those applying for the 1st time or children’s renewals should plan to visit our main office or any of our nearby satellite offices at their earliest convenience.
