Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Hard to believe that another year has passed. As we start 2024, I’d like to begin on a positive note by sharing what our office has accomplished in the past year and our goals for this year.
Fiscal Year 2023 started with challenges facing our community as we navigated through various reconstruction efforts on the road to recovery from the impacts of Hurricane Ian. Despite the effects, our office showed its resiliency and adaptability as we continued to pursue excellence in providing essential services to the public, even in times of crisis and disaster. I am proud of our team for earning statewide recognitions, receiving national standards awards, holding numerous successful community events and completing complex system upgrades, to name just a few of the initiatives that were completed. See more in our January 2024 newsletter as the different departments provided more information on their successes.
I am pleased to announce that registration is open for the 4th Annual Valentine’s Day Wedding and Vow Renewal Ceremony, which will be held in the Eva Sugden Gomez Center at Baker Park on February 14, 2024. The ceremony will be followed by delicious hors d’oeuvres from The Hangout by Two Guys, a magnificent wedding cake from Seed to Table, and a commemorative photo opportunity from Let Me Be Candid Photography to capture the couple’s sweetest moments, to name just a few of our community sponsors. I look forward to seeing romantic couples of Collier County!
I wanted to share an update from periodic reviews completed by our Office of Inspector General (OIG) on the Collier County Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program. If you are considering making energy-efficient upgrades to your home in 2024, this might be an article that would interest you as it provides a background regarding the program. I hope this will be a useful guide for homeowners in making informed decisions when investing in their property and making home improvements.
We want to invite interested homeowners, buyers, sellers, and renters to join the York Real Estate Group’s 15th Annual Real Estate Seminar, where I am one of the speakers. This 2-hour seminar will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Heritage Bay Meeting Room from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM. Joining me in the panel are several real estate, law, and business experts who will provide valuable insights to help you navigate real estate with confidence. The seminar will cover various interesting and relevant topics such as Record Home Prices, Interest rates, Homeowner’s Insurance, Wills and Trusts Across States, and fraud protection.
Lastly, I want to extend my gratitude to our community for your support of our projects and events and to our office staff for their commitment to providing quality services to the citizens of Collier County. Looking forward, our team is ready to make 2024 another productive year!
