June is traditionally known as the wedding month likely due to the good weather, blooming flowers and High School seniors graduating. However, the tradition dates to Roman times. It was believed that couples who married in June would be blessed with prosperity and happiness. To this day, getting married in the month of June remains a long-standing tradition and many are eager to be called a “June Bride.”
If you are looking for a simple and worry-free wedding ceremony, getting married at the courthouse could be the perfect option for you and your future spouse. Courthouse wedding ceremonies are generally more affordable and efficient than traditional weddings, providing greater flexibility with quicker and simpler planning. These ceremonies are typically smaller and more intimate, allowing couples to share their special day with their closest friends and loved ones.
Schedule your wedding ceremony with us today in our beautifully decorated wedding chapel in the Collier County Courthouse or opt for a virtual ceremony.
Before scheduling your ceremony, you must obtain a marriage license. You can do this by visiting one of our Clerk of Courts locations in Collier County or by applying online. Online ceremonies are only available for couples who have been issued their license online from Collier County. All online services are by appointment only and can be scheduled during the application process. Same day weddings are not available online.
Licenses are valid for 60 days and must be used between the effective date and the expiration date shown on the license. There is a 3-day waiting period for any Florida resident to marry (after the license issue date), unless both applicants have completed a premarital course with an approved provider and present a certificate of completion at the time of application.
Our clerks will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and we encourage you to visit us at https://collierclerk.com/marriage-licenses/ or call us at 239-252-7242.
Best wishes to all couples!
