Collier County Clerk Receives GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is pleased to announce that Collier County Clerk of the Courts, Florida, has received GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Annual Budget for the fiscal year beginning October 01, 2022. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.

The award represents a significant achievement by the Collier County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the Clerk’s office had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device.

Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award. This award is valid for a one year.

A Certificate of Recognition has been presented to the Collier County Clerk of the Courts – Accounting Department for their efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.

“I am proud to share that this has been the 20th consecutive year our office earned recognition for our transparency in budgeting,” said Collier County Clerk Crystal K. Kinzel. “I thank our staff for all their hard work in putting this together and ensuring that our budgets meet the criteria for excellence.”
