In 2019, the Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers (FCCC), The Office of State Court Administrator, and the Clerks of Court Operations Corporation released the “E-Notify” program to the public, which allowed individuals to sign-up to receive email and text messages of any upcoming criminal court events.
This was specifically designed to inform court defendants of their schedules ahead of time to help them be there on time and avoid any sanctions due to non-attendance. It is also a valuable resource for anyone who is simply interested in any criminal court events happening within the state, including the public and members of the media.
This service is completely free and accessible to the public. Individuals who are interested in participating in court hearings and other relevant court events are encouraged to sign up. After signing up, you will now be able to receive alerts containing the date, time, and location of case events. You will automatically be notified on your chosen combination upon sign up, which can either be 14 days, 7 days, or a day-ahead.
The project initially only covered three counties during its release – Orange, Okaloosa, and Nassau. After positive feedback and with the help of the state’s Clerks of Court and the state courts system, the program was expanded statewide on January 2020. As of writing, E-Notify is providing notifications for criminal misdemeanor and felony cases, including criminal traffic. Our office is continuously working on improving the platform to support a wider variety of case types.
