The Clerk’s Office in an interesting place to discover how local government impacts the lives of the residence of Collier County. Through our internship program, students get hands on experience and first-hand knowledge of the varied critical work that the Clerk’s Office provides to our customers. An internship with the Clerk’s Office will allow you to discover the rewarding opportunities for a career in the public sector. Unpaid internship opportunities are offered year-round for high school, college, and post-graduate students across all our divisions, such as Courts, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Inspector General, and Recording. For our high school interns, this opportunity will allow you to earn community service credits, which can be applied towards Florida Bright Futures or other scholarships.

The internship program is intended to provide:

  • Increased awareness of opportunities available in a public service organization
  • Valuable practical work experience or experience through a project to increase your skills
  • Opportunities to observe, contribute, and rotate through the different parts of the organization
  • Career connections, mentorship, and networking opportunities within the organization
  • Training, either formal or on-the-job along with constructive, on-going feedback for personal and professional development
  • Flexible path from internship to employment
  • Critical experience that can be added to your college application or to your professional resume

Our internship program is designed for flexibility. The core hours of the Clerk’s Office are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible schedules are available during our core hours.

The Collier County Clerk’s Office is looking for volunteers to join the Clerk’s Corps for a rewarding experience of giving back to their community and serving the public using their own skills, experience, and expertise. Our Clerk’s Corps volunteers add a much-needed service by greeting and guiding customers to the appropriate office, assisting with administrative duties, and lending technical expertise to a variety of department, including Information Technology, Finance, and Courts. Examples of the wide range of volunteer opportunities are:

  • Clerical projects – filing paperwork, back scanning of court files, sorting, assembling, and organizing materials, routing, and delivering documents, etc.
  • Customer assistance – greeting and guiding members of the public to the correct offices and essential resources they need for Jury Duty, Court Filings, and more
  • Legal Research
  • Policy and Procedure Documentation
  • Technical Writing
  • Financial Projects Involving Accounting and/or Auditing

The Clerk’s Corps volunteers add much needed support to the Clerk’s Office and enhance the quality of services provided by the Clerk’s agency.

Volunteers may contribute as many, or as few, hours as they desire; however, we must have volunteers who are available on a recurring and/or project specific basis during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The number of volunteer hours and specific work schedule is established by mutual agreement.
