Veterans’ Preference

The Clerk’s Office values the service veterans and their family members have given to our country and supports the hiring of returning service members and military spouses. Applicants who wish to claim Veterans’ Preference in employment must identify on the employment application that they are claiming Veterans’ Preference.

Additionally, those claiming Veterans’ Preference must complete and attach the appropriate Veterans’ Preference Certification form along with any required documentation, such as a DD form 214 to their employment application. Please note that the Collier County Clerk’s Office does not use a point system to rank order candidates. Accordingly, points are not given. However, eligible veterans are identified as such and are given special consideration in the employment process in accordance with Florida law.
